Meet The Team: Maria Montour (she/her)

This week we’re spotlighting a team player, Maria Montour, our Resident Logistics Coordinator, West. Read on to learn about Maria.

Tell us about what makes you…you.(hometown pride, super power, secret talent).

My name is Maria Montour. I was born and raised in San Jose, California. My superpower is that I can shape shift! I can be flexible and adaptable in almost any situation. If you hand me a task, I don’t care what it is, I will get it done. My secret talent professionally is the ability to keep things simple. I stick to fact not story. No Chicken Little here. The sky is never falling! We got this! One step at a time! My personal secret talent? I can make a mean cookie!

Where were you before Alfred? We want to know your journey that led you here.

Before Alfred I was a personal assistant for a large company in the tile and stone industry called Bedrosian. I decided to come to Alfred to help me gain experience in homes to add to my personal/executive assistant experience. So, I became a Home Manager in the SF market. Currently, I am the Resident Logistic Coordinator for the West!

What makes you feel at home at Alfred?

I love working at Alfred. Since the day I walked through the doors I have felt a part of our #oneteam attitude. Whenever I’ve had issues, management at all levels have reached out to support me, and with every promotion those same managers have cheered me on. Most people have to go to work. I get to!

Something you learned during the pandemic/something you wished you learned.

I used my time during the pandemic to reflect inward. To work on the only common denominator in my life and that’s me. I learned that happiness is an inside job and I’m my knight in shining armor. That, if I want to change my life all I had to do was change my attitude and my behavior. But I also learned that nothing will change unless I’m grateful for what I have today.

Coffee order?

I am a coffee addict! I’ve walked 6 miles for French Pressed single sourced Kona coffee when visiting Hawaii. But, my current Starbucks order is a Grande Peppermint mocha with 3 add shots and 2 extra pumps of “sweet” in a venti cup! Yes, I want to end the day in a diabetic coma! I am currently working on this character defect (LOL).
